At Mar y Esperanza Counseling Services, we strive to make your days look brighter and to improve your life satisfaction. Life is not always smooth sailing, and our purpose is to foster hope and be the beacon of light during choppy waters to see you safe to shore.
Our mission is for therapy to feel safe, easy, comforting, valuable and something that you look forward to.
We are here to help you grow and help you heal.
My role as a therapist is to be supportive and aiding towards your healing, personal growth, and for you to have healthy and satisfying interpersonal relationships. My style of therapy is through spirituality, authenticity, transparency, optimism, humor, and metaphors.
During session with me, you can expect warmth, professionalism, and care.
Healing will take work, so we will go at your pace, and I will genuinely enjoy being with you along the way.
First impressions are key, and I look forward to making the best one on you.
My work over the past ten years has been with children, adolescents, couples, groups, individuals, and family units from diverse backgrounds. I’ve had the privilege of working in different capacities and various settings, such as private practice, school-based counseling, and in-home services.
Growing up in an untraditional household and in an inner city, I know first-hand the struggles and challenges that individuals, couples and families are faced with. I’m grateful for the journey that has shaped my career, and I genuinely believe, as cliché as it may sound, that everything happens for a reason and that it’s part of God’s plan. I’m certain that my real-life experiences and my profession make a purposeful balance.
Therapy is exactly that –creating balance and emitting hope. Talk therapy does not make life’s challenges go away but it helps to build resilience and the strength to face them.
If I get the privilege to work together, I’d love to hear your story. And like a puzzle, we’ll discover your strengths and learn the techniques that work best for you one piece at a time.

Similar to therapy for adults, child therapy offers a safe space and an empathetic ear while providing tools to cope with traumatic issues, day to day struggles, identify, express, and regulate emotions, build self-esteem, and improve communication skills.
Parents and caregivers play a crucial role in a child’s life and staying engaged throughout their therapy experience helps promote significant improvement. Child therapy provides parents and caregivers the opportunity to gain insight and learn techniques to help their child’s therapeutic process.
Individual therapy offers a safe and confidential space to explore personal challenges, work towards personal growth, develop coping strategies, promote self-awareness, and emotional well-being.
Individual therapy can help with a variety of personal issues, including Depression, Anxiety, Anger, Relationship challenges, Parenting problems, School difficulties, and Career changes.
We are here to support you through your journey.
Couples therapy helps partners improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen their relationship. We offer a neutral space for couples to address concerns and work towards a healthier, more fulfilling partnership.
Family counseling focuses on improving communication, understanding dynamics, and strengthening relationships within the family unit. We work with families to navigate challenges, foster cohesion, and promote a harmonious family environment.
